WILLIAM THOMEIER, shoe-maker, Meadville, was
born in Germany, July 25,1840; and is a son of Peter J., and Frances K. (Ottimen)
Thomeier, natives of Germany, who came to America in 1855, and in 1856
settled in Meadville. Peter J. Thomeier was a stone-mason. Our subject,
who is third of a family of seven, since eighteen years of age has worked
at shoe-making, and since 1862 in Meadville. He was married in 1865 to
Miss C. C. Kopp, a native of Germany, and they have had seven children,
six of whom are yet living. They are: Anna, Katie, Fannie, Emma, Charles
and Edna. The fifth child, Franklin, is deceased. In politics Mr. Thomeier
is a Democrat; he is a member of the City Council; is the owner of two
houses and lots, and has made his own way in the world.
