Dr. Victor A. Hite, of Butler, Pennsylvania,
is one of the leading practitioners of chiropody in the county. He was
born in Butler, January 22, 1900, the son of William H. and Catherine
(Victor) Hite.
William H. Hite was born in Petrolia, Pennsylvania,
and his wife is a native of Lancaster, New York. Victor A. Hite is their
only child. William H. Hite was associated with his father, Conrad Hite,
in the oil business for many years. He is now a salesman for the Oil Well
Supply Company of Bradford, Pennsylvania. He is a Republican, a member of
Grace Lutheran Church, and belongs to the Knights of Pythias.
Doctor Hite acquired his early education in the
public and high schools of Butler, and in June, 1923, received his degree
at Temple University, Philadelphia. He served one year in interne work at
Lit Brothers Hospital, Philadelphia, and in May, 1924, opened offices in
Butler, and is located at 117 South McKean Street. Doctor Hite was the
first member of his profession to locate in Butler, where he has built up
a large and representative practice. Doctor Hite was a member of the
faculty of Temple College for a time after his graduation.
In 1920 Doctor Hite enlisted in Company D, One
Hundred and Twelfth Machine Gun Company, and served for four years. After
the expiration of this enlistment, he enlisted in the Medical Detachment
of the One Hundred and Twelfth Infantry, Twenty-eighth Division,
Pennsylvania National Guard. He is now the hospital sergeant in this
division.
In May, 1925, Doctor Hite married Miss Helen
Courtney, a daughter of Benjamin B. and Maude (Stauffer) Courtney,
residents of Butler County.
Doctor Hite is a Republican and a member of the Pi
Epsilon Delta and Chiropody Society of Pennsylvania. He and his wife are
active members of the Grace Lutheran Church.
