Paul C. Frazier, Doctor of Chiropractic, with
offices in the Rockenstein Building, Butler, is one of the successful
professional men of this city. He was born in Butler County, near
Portersville, Pennsylvania, November 15, 1889, and is a son of Robert S.
and Martha (Trusdale) Frazier.
Robert S. Frazier was born in Butler County and was a
successful farmer and stockman. He lived retired about five years before
his death, which occurred December 24, 1926, on his farm in Old
Homestead, Muddy Creek Township, Butler County. His wife was born in
Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Frazier was a Democrat, and served as
supervisor of the township school board. He belonged to the United
Presbyterian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Frazier were the parents of eight
children: (1) Stephen, married Clara Snyder, resides in Muddy Creek
Township. They have four children: Roberta, Myrtle, Joseph and Ruth. (2)
George S. married Laura Wooster, reside in Muddy Creek Township, where he
is a farmer. They have four children: Sarah, Martha, David and Thomas. (3)
Sadie, married Harry Dunbaugh, Connoquenessing Township, Butler County,
where he is engaged in the oil business. They have six children: Robert,
Edward, Ernest, Hazel, Gladys, and Richard. (4) Paul C., the subject of
this sketch; (5) Letitia, married Ralph McCymonds, a farmer, Muddy Creek
Township, and they have four children: Fred, Floyd, Clark, and Florence.
(6) Frank, a veteran of the World War, U. S. Engineers, married Anna
Kennedy, Muddy Creek Township, engaged in oil business. They have three
children: Bessie, Jean and Edna Mae. (7) Florence, at home; and (8)
Walter, at home, married Alice Miller, and they have two children, Kenneth
and Helen.
Robert S. Frazier was a son of George Frazier, who
was born in Ireland and with his brother John came to the United States
and settled in Butler County, Pennsylvania, where they followed farming
and stock raising, and were prominent citizens of the community. George
Fraziers farm consisted of about 600 acres.
Paul C. Frazier attended the public schools of Muddy
Creek Township and Slippery Rock State Normal School, after which he
taught school for six years. In February, 1918, he enlisted in the United
States Army, in the Three Hundred and Twenty-ninth Infantry, Eighty-third
Division, Company A. He served in France for eight months, and was
commissioned corporal. He was mustered out of service February 14, 1919,
at Camp Dix, New Jersey. After his discharge from duty he went to the
Universal Chiropractic College in Pittsburgh, from which he graduated
March 1, 1923. He located at Butler and began the practice of his
profession. Doctor Frazier also took special courses in electro-therapy.
In 1918 Doctor Frazier was married to Miss Evelyn
Martin, a daughter of K. 0. and Fanny C. (McCune) Martin, natives of
Butler and Lawrence Counties. Mr. Martin was engaged in the oil business
in Connoquenessing Township. He died October 30, 1926. Doctor and Mrs.
Frazier have a son, J. Victor, born June 19, 1924.
Doctor Frazier is a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of
Prospect, Pennsylvania, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He
is also a member of the Butler County Chiropractic Association, of which
he is secretary and treasurer. He is a Republican in politics, and he and
his wife are members of the First United Presbyterian Church. Doctor
Frazier is a substantial member of the community and a highly esteemed
citizen.
