Joseph Patrick Treccase, M. D., of Butler, is
one of the successful young professional men of the city. He was born in
Italy, September 29, 1898, and is a son of Joseph and Josephine Treccase,
both natives of Italy.
Joseph Treccase worked as manager of his fathers
farms in Italy. In 1900 he came to the United States and settled at DuBois,
Pennsylvania, and later about 1901 came to Butler, where he conducted a
shoe store for many years. He is now living retired. To Joseph and
Josephine Treccase four children were born: Mary, married Peter Marino,
lives in Cleveland, Ohio; Joseph Patrick, the subject of this sketch; Anna
and Anthony, at home.
Joseph Patrick Treccase attended the public schools
of Butler, graduating from the high school in 1917. In 1917 he entered
Washington-Lee University of Virginia. In 1919 he entered the Medical
College of Virginia, where he received his degree as Doctor of Medicine in
1923. From 1923 to 1924 he served as interne at St. Josephs Hospital,
Pittsburgh. He located in Butler in 1924 and established his present
offices at 343 South Main Street. During the World War Doctor Treccase was
a member of the Students Army Training Corps at Washington-Lee
University.
Doctor Treccase is a Republican in political
allegiance, and a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. He belongs to
the Knights of Columbus, and has served as vice president and is now
secretary and treasurer of the Chi Zeta Chi.
