James K. Bowen    

JAMES K. BOWEN, financier and attorney, was born and reared in Allentown, the son of John and Emmeline (Klein) Bowen. The date of his birth was January 3, 1871. He was graduated from the Allentown High School in 1888 and the law department of the University of Pennsylvania in 1897. He is a member of the Philadelphia and Lehigh County Bar Associations and until he entered the mercantile field was very active in his profession. He is a man, public-spirited in his ideals and convictions. He is owner of the John Bowen Grocery, the leading retail grocery establishment in the city. He is treasurer of the Allentown Bobbin Works and president of the following industries: Allentown Iron Manufacturing Company, Allen Chemical Company, Allen Typewriter Company, and Grape Capsule Company. He married Letitia W. Barnes, daughter of Avon and Anna Barnes.
