JAMES GRAHAM, Clerk of Court, Meadville, was
born in Beaver County, Penn., May 5, 1838, and is a son of Hugh and Anna
(Johnson) Graham, natives of Pennsylvania and of Scotch-Irish descent. His
father was a carpenter and came to this county in 1856, raising a family
of four children, of whom James, the eldest, learned his fathers trade,
working at building sawmills, etc. In 1876 he was elected Justice of the
Peace of Bloomfield Township, and continued in this office till 1882, when
he was elected to his present position. He was married in 1861 to Sarah
Lincoln, a native of this county, and their children are Eva, Jennie,
Lyman and Addie. They are members of the Second Presbyterian Church. He is
a Republican.
