George Henry Gerber

GEORGE HENRY GERBER, merchant tailor, Beaver Falls, was born in
Baden, Germany, July 6, 1847. He served four years’ apprenticeship at the
tailor’s trade in his native town, and in 1866 emigrated to this country,
settling in Pittsburgh, where he worked as a journeyman for nineteen
months. He then came to New Brighton, where he worked seven years as a
journeyman and four years as a cutter. In 1879, he came to Beaver Falls,
and was in the employ of Harry Goldsmith for five years. January 1, 1884,
he embarked in business for himself, and has now a large and successful
trade.
