G. Willis Hersh

G. WILLIS HERSH, senior member and general
manager of the firm of Hersh & Bro., was born in Allentown, August 9,
1876, a son of James M. and Emma (Bortz) Hersh. He was educated in the
public schools and the Allentown Business College, and his first
experience as a business man was as a dealer in bicycles. After continuing
in this business for four years, he became a member of the firm of Hersh &
Bro., which had been founded in 1876 by James and Frank Hersh. The firm
today is composed of G. Willis Hersh, general manager; Edgar E. Hersh, in
charge of the heating and ventilating department, and Harvey E. Hersh, in
charge of the sheet metal work. The firm is recognized as one of the
foremost heating, ventilating and sheet metal work establishments in the
East. Mr. Hersh is one of the type of men who stamp their identity
indelibly on the field of their labors. Active in business and civic life
alike, he has proven an invaluable asset to the community. He is a member
of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and the American Heating and
Ventilating Society. Mr. Hersh is a thirty-second degree Mason, being a
member of Barger Lodge; Caldwell and Bloomsburg Consistories, and Rajah
Temple. He is also a member of the National Association of Manufacturers;
Odd Fellows; the Elks; Cloyer Club; and the Temple Club, of Shamokin, Pa.
In 1898 Mr. Hersh married Roxie Welty, of Alburtis.
