Francis J. Gildner

FRANCIS J. GILDNER, solicitor for the commissioners of Lehigh
County, and a prominent member of the local bar, is a son of Elias K. and
Mary L. (Snyder) Gildner, and was born at New Tripoli, Lehigh County, Pa.,
October 21, 1875, He received his education in the public schools, Ursinus
Academy and Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pa., graduating from the latter
institution in 1900. He then registered as a law student in the offices of
Kline & Dewalt. In July, 1904, he passed the State board of law examiners
for admission to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and on September &,
1910, he was admitted to practice at the Lehigh County bar. Mr. Gildner
has risen steadily in his profession and has the confidence of his large
clientele. During the years 1906-07-08 he acted as deputy under George G.
Blumer, prothonotary of Lehigh County, proving himself a faithful and
efficient public servant. He was one of the organizers of the Penn
Counties Trust Company, and is a director of that institution. He is a
Republican in politics and a Lutheran in religious faith. On June 5, 1905,
Mr. Gildner married Ida Minerva, daughter of Theodore S. and Ruth A. J.
Smith, of New Tripoli.
