Edward H. Reninger

EDWARD H. RENINGER, Esq., banker and man of affairs, was born in
Allentown, Pa., April 23, 1857. He is the son of Aaron G. and Eliza J. (Schroiber)
Reninger. He was educated in the public schools of Allentown, the
Allentown Academy, Muhlenberg Preparatory School, and Franklin and
Marshall College, being graduated from the latter institution with the
class of 1878. Mr. Reninger studied law with Morris F. Kauffman and after
being admitted to the bar in 1882, formed a partnership with his preceptor
under the name of Kauffman & Reninger. He was one of the organizers of the
Lehigh Valley Trust Company in 1886, and in October, 1893, he became
treasurer, a position which he filled continuously until 1915, when he was
elected president. He possesses sound and able judgment on matters
pertaining to business and finance, and his counsel is daily sought. Mr.
Reninger was at one time chairman of the Republican County Committee, and
for upward of twenty years served as a school director and controller. He
is a former secretary of the Pennsylvania Bankers’ Association, as well as
a member of the Executive Committee of the Trust Company section of the
American Bankers’ Association. He is a member of the Livingston Club,
Chamber of Commerce, St. Leger Club, Lehigh Country Club, Lehigh County
Historical Society, Pennsylvania German Society, and a member of the
Executive Committee and president protem of the Lehigh County Agricultural
Society. He takes a great interest, in the Allentown hospital and is a
trustee and treasurer of the Allentown Hospital Association, and a trustee
and former treasurer of the Allentown College for Women. Ho is president
of the Alumni Association of Franklin and Marshall College, and is a
member of the board of trustees of that institution. He is a member and
has been a deacon and trustee in St. John’s Reformed Church. On April 24,
1884, he married Clara L. Weinsheimer, a daughter of Henry and Rebecca (Saeger)
Weinsheimer.
