E. T. Grant

E.T. GRANT, tanner, Ridgway, was born at Liberty, Sullivan Co.,
N.Y., in 1853, a son of Hon. R. Y. Grant. He was reared in his native
county, and was given good educational advantages, graduating from
Monticello Academy in 1868. Coming to Ridgway in 1869, he entered the
employ of the Ridgway Tanning Company, and has since been connected with
same. He was married in 1876 and has two children—one son and one
daughter. Mr. Grant is a member of Elk Lodge, No. 379, F. & A. M. He is a
Democrat in politics, and an active worker for the interests of his party.
He is a member of Mill Creek Rod and Gun Club, which owns ten miles of
Mill Creek, a stream that furnishes the best fishing ground in the State.
They have an elegantly fitted up club-house, furnished with all necessary
accoutrements for pleasure seekers, and have a special policeman employed
to guard the stream. The club is incorporated, and will soon become the
greatest pleasure club in the State.
