Charles H. Melvin

CHARLES H. MELVIN, farmer, post-office Greenville, was born on
the old homestead, in West Salem Township, March 14, 1860, and is the
youngest child of John R. Melvin. Our subject has passed his life in
Mercer County, and received his education in its public schools. He was
married September 9, 1880, to Eva, daughter of Joseph B. and Mary
(McLaughlin) Nelson, natives of Mercer County. Mrs. Melvin was born in
West Salem Township. and is the mother of two children: Harry Clifford and
Joseph Plummer. Politically Mr. Melvin is a Democrat, and one of the
progressive young farmers of the township.
