DR. CARL D. ASHLEY, is a son of Dr. Rufus
Ashley. He was born in Washington county, New York, in December 1822. In

Ashley entered upon the practice of medicine in 1844, having completed his
studies with his father, Dr. Rufus Ashley and Dr. William Woodruff, of
Meadville. During the past thirty-five years he has practiced his
profession at Guys Mills, with the exception of a few years, which were
spent in Meadville and Pithole. He is well-known throughout all of eastern

Meadville where he still continued to practice. He was appointed Health
